If you are using the trial version, and not able to update the app, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. It appears to only affect the trial version. I have seen posts on developer forums about this bug, and hopefully it will be addressed in an upcoming windows phone update.
Another update is on its way soon. Version 1.9 will be adding 10 telemetry data and 7 day graphs for different stations in your selected region.
